Being of a lazy frame of mind (and not having a lot of space), if I wantbto try taking cuttings, I just cut off a piece near the node, remove leaves as appropriate and drop them in a jar of water.

Keep the water topped up and in a couple of weeks at least some if them will have rooted.

Bren, that’s a really good point! Thanks for mentioning it. I need to add this to my post, as others will likely have this point too. I’ve done this water method too. I’ve had a higher success rate with the pelargoniums by adding them straight to the soil. And the cuttings that root in water need to be added to soil anyway before the spring arrives, so I figure it’s more efficient in the end to put them straight in the soil. But you’re right, adding the cuttings to water is totally a viable method, especially when we’re short on time or space when we need to do it. Thanks for bringing it up! I’ll add this option to my post.
